Well hello there! My name is Madison and I am a senior at the University of Oregon, studying Public Relations in the School of Journalism and Communication. I am 22 years old and am the first person in my family to go away to college. I am the fourth generation in my family to be born and raised in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara, California.
But enough about that boring stuff. Starting in High School, as soon as I met someone I would ask, “What are your hopes and dreams?” At first, it was a bit of a joke because of people’s reactions. However, I continued it. I believe that anyone can tell you the facts about themselves, but to tell someone who you want to be, tells you much more than basic facts ever can. Nowadays, with technology including social media, anyone can find that basic information out, but to tell someone who you want to be is intimate, but genuine, and most people truly appreciate you taking an interest in them and receive the question with great appreciation.
So let me tell you my hopes and dreams. My hopes and dreams involve working in public relations in the food and beverage industry. I hope to create a network of both personal and professional relationships with people that want to see me grow and become the best version of myself as possible. I hope to travel the world and submerge myself with people, places, and experiences that allow me to flourish in every way possible. I hope to never stop changing and never stop appreciating life. I hope to never forget to be grateful for all of the amazing people in my life and for the opportunities that I am given. I hope to be successful in life and remember to measure success in the form of my own happiness and the happiness I create for others. I hope to continue to grow and change every day.
Growth and change are two very important elements of life, both personally and professionally. In this market of a constant evolution of styles, fads, technology, and ways of communication, growth and change are pertinent to best-practice communications. With that said, I want to cordially welcome you to my Portfolio. This is my proof of growth and change. This is my proof of adaptation and a peek into my journey to becoming a public relations practitioner.
Welcome!
Sincerely,
Madison Chackel
